Adult Material is a contemporary art gallery based in Bangkok’s historic and cinematic Chinatown, founded in June 2026. Dedicated to queer perspectives from across contemporary art and design, the gallery emerges from and contributes to the city’s dynamic, layered identity. An identity that embraces fluidity, contradiction, and self-expression.
In bridging fine art and design, Adult Material places a particular emphasis on craft and sustainability, supporting practices that are materially significant, process-driven, and conscious of their environmental as well as cultural impact. This is a space where experimentation meets the collectible, where queer aesthetics are not only celebrated but critically engaged.
The gallery is also concerned with new and underrepresented voices as Adult Material champions artists and designers from across the region and beyond. We are committed to presenting work that challenges norms, expands narratives, and explores the many textures of queer experience - intimate, political, and unapologetically visible.
